#interior design dallas
Dallas Interior Designer, Lisa Sorenson, developed her passion for design at a young age with a perfectionist eye and a constant craving for all things creative. She took that passion to Waco, Texas where she attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. The four year, accredited program developed her knowledge on materials and finishes, skills in various computer drafting programs, abilities to sketch and render as well as her unique design perspective. She was also able to actively participate in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), serving as Co-President, and carrying that involvement into postgraduate experience with both the Dallas chapter of ASID and the DFW chapter of the Interior Design Society (IDS).
Interning with Dallas designer Denise McGaha, Lisa’s love for the fast paced, ever-changing field of design grew immensely along with her skill set as she was able to use her strong presentation skills with client meetings and especially her rendering skills, presenting beautiful hand drawings with each new project. Spending a year in San Antonio after graduation, she established her own client base, working with everything from residential interiors to stage set and backdrop design for Baylor University, for which she has won multiple People’s Choice Awards for “Best Backdrop”. Her experience even reaches to commercial Christmas design and décor, being awarded the opportunity to design and install the Christmas decorations for Baylor University’s Student Union.
Since joining Baker Design Group in 2011, Lisa has felt right at home as Lead Designer, bringing her professional ideas to life with a fresh, innovative, artistic design eye. She loves collaborating with the BDG design team and bringing visions to fruition for our fabulous client-base. In 2012 she took home the ASID DesignOvation First place award for Emerging Designer, and continues to see success for the design team, in industry awards and accolades for all their hard work. Most recently, Lisa has been named a D Home Best Designer of 2016 and featured along with Dallas’s best and brightest in Interior Design.
Jessica’s passion for design began as a child while helping pick out wall paper and flooring for a kitchen remodel. Since then she can’t help but to walk into a room and envision how to make it better – whether it be more functional or aesthetically pleasing. Jessica went to school at the University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. While at UNT, Jessica interned with the UNT Facilities Management and Construction office where she gained experience in commercial design and helped conduct LEED research for the recently built and LEED accredited Business Leadership Building.
After moving to Seattle, Jessica switched her focus to residential design and began interning at Kristine Donovick Interior Design. There she was able to further develop her skills while assisting designers with various projects in the Pacific Northwest. In 2012, Jessica moved back to the Dallas area and began working for Baker Design Group. She is now an allied member of ASID and her diverse client background has cultivated her appreciation for many different design styles. Since then, she has worked on many of our award winning projects and is looking forward to continuing to work with clients to transform their living and work spaces.
Warehouse and Seasonal Manager
Karen earned her degree in Interior Design from St. Claire College and shortly there after managed three of Lancome’s stores. Karen now manages and oversees our entire BDG warehouse, communicating with our receiving warehouse and interior designers. She works alongside our interior designers and vendors to make sure all items are arriving on time and are in perfect condition so that installs are well prepared and run smoothly. Drawing from prior experience of running her own construction company, handling the operations and crews, Karen also manages all BDG Christmas crews. Karen fills an important role here at BDG that allows each project to run as seamless as possible.

Having graduated from Texas A M with a degree in Business Marketing, Lora is using her fresh experience to further develop Baker Design Group’s Marketing reach as well as work alongside the designers in client relations. During college, Lora was a floral design intern at Dallas wedding and event florist, Stems of Dallas. Here, her appreciation for design and event planning was deepened, and admiration for small business entrepreneurs grown. Lora represented Mays Business School in New York City during her senior year to compete in the National Retail Federation’s Student Challenge, finishing third place nationally with her team based on their efforts in presenting a unique product, marketing strategy, and business plan. As the target market researcher for the semester-long project, Lora gained clarity that she loved knowing why people like what they like, and then finding out the best way to deliver that to customers. After graduating, Lora’s natural care for delivering on client satisfaction was finely tuned while leading luxury active travel vacations for Backroads. Lora is excited to be able to bring her marketing and client relations skills to the Baker Design Group team.
